Welcome to the Third North American Regional Caribbean Congress on Epilepsy

Friends and Colleagues,

From February 16 to 18, 2012 the Third Biennial North American Regional Caribbean Congress on Epilepsy (Third NARCCE) was held in Antigua at the Jolly Beach Hotel, sited on one of the most beautiful islands and beaches in the Caribbean. The NARCCE was conceptualized to be the cornerstone of educational initiatives on Epilepsy in the region, addressing educational needs of physicians and other health care workers in the Caribbean with broader implications for the care of underserved populations throughout the North American region.

The success of the First and Second Congresses, both held in Jamaica, encouraged us to hold this meeting in other Caribbean islands, thereby making this unique educational event available to many more and offering our North American and international attendees an unending variety of tropical settings where relaxation and education can mutually co-exist!

This year the range of topics and quality of the faculty made the Third Congress a very successful educational event, attended by over 100 physicians and health care professionals involved in the care of people with Epilepsy. Meetings such as these also serve as tremendous networking opportunities for exploring future research collaborations and for discussing individual case management.

This year we are much honored that the Third NARCCE has been accredited for 11.5 Category 1 CME Hours. We are grateful to the American Epilepsy Society for their support in this regard.

Thank you for joining us in beautiful Antigua, famed for its 365 beaches, one for each day of the year! If you were not with us for the Third NARCCE we invite you to stay tuned for information on the 4th North American Regional Caribbean Congress on Epilepsy which will be held in the beautiful island of St. Lucia

Warm regards,
Amza Ali, Co-Chair
Dave Clarke, Co-Chair
